Configuration: Array Layout and Module Orientation (P= Portrait L=Landscape) All pipe recommendations conform to ASCE 7-10, IBC2006, and are based on 90 mph, Exposure C, 55-degree max tilt, 12" max front edge ground clearance except for those noted. DPW top-of-pole racks are a drop shipment item direct from the manufacturer. Ships in about 20 business days (Subject to Seasonal Increases) after funds clear and the shop drawing is approved by the customer.
DPW Top-of-Pole mount are constructed of heavy gauge steel and aluminum and can securely mount 1 to 18 solar panels on a single pole. Standard module specific design reduces parts and assembly time. With seasonal elevation adjustments from 15˚ to 65˚the DPW Top-of-Pole mount mounts on locally sourced standard Schedule 40 or 80 rigid steel pipe.

This question depends on what is considered an acceptable amount of annual "shade loss" (system output lost to inter-row shading). If your goal is zero shade loss, visit the first the NOAA Solar Calculator (http://www.esrl.noaa.gov/gmd/grad/solcalc/) to find the minimum solar altitude angle (El) on December 21st at 10 A.M., by inputting the coordinates of the project area. Use the following formula to find distance (D) between arrays to avoid shading: D’=h/tan(El). Height (h), is the difference between the rear edge of the first array and leading edge of the second array.

POWER-FAB Top-of-Pole Mounts, manufactured by Direct Power and Water Corporation, are available in several sizes up to 260 square feet. The rack design is determined by the area of the module(s) to be mounted, not necessarily the number of modules. POWER-FAB Top-of-Pole mounts are designed for maximum strength and ease of installation. Racks are module-specific and not universal, which helps to reduce the number of parts. This simplifies assembly and minimizes assembly errors. No aluminum components are threaded to be attached to other components. All mounting sleeves are heavy gauge steel and have fully welded caps. Hardened bolts are used to lock the mounting sleeve to the pole. Solar module mounting rails are made of mill-finish 6061-T6 structural aluminum angle or channel. All holes are deburred, and edges are coped and sanded. Stainless steel module mounting hardware is provided with each rack. Standard rack assembly hardware is zinc-plated Grade 5.
