Solar panel roof or ground racks, batteries and Optional AC inverter for this Micro kit are site specific options that are NOT included with the base package. Additionally the inverter is not included in the base package because many cabin owners have asked they be allowed to supply their own inverter.
READ THIS PLEASE! A full instructive three-line wire diagram [See Schematic Tab ⇧] of entire DC circuit, as well as AC lines to the Optional Inverter is included but field assembly of all the components listed is by others (Ships Unassembled). Blue Pacific Solar will provide the PV wire to the edge of the array. All other wire / conduit and battery interconnect cables are not included. Optional AC inverter
(See Below), 120 VAC 15 AAC panel mount breakers and 120 VAC outlet (s) are not included. Panel mount breakers are single-pole ¾" wide breakers with ¼" stud connections and require ring terminals on wires connected to them. Ring terminals and connecting AWG CU wires are not included and are readily available at your local
hardware store. NOTE: This micro kit can be wired using the outlet example on the schematic page above but can also be wire into your cabins AC breaker panel [Breaker Panel Only IF you select the Optional Magnum 120 VAC Inverter]. [If you select the optional inverter or provide your own]. We will draw into the custom line drawing we provide with either option, your choice.
RECOMMENDATION - Keep the number of parallel strings of batteries to three or fewer. More than three strings of batteries will shorten your battery life due to uneven charging. That means use higher AH 6VDC or 2VDC batteries for fewer strings. Batteries in Series = Voltage is Additive; Batteries in Parallel = Ah is Additive.
Solar Production = 12,000 Watts Per Day ● Assumptions: STC 300 Watt Panel Rating [Factory Rating] @ 4.0 Sun Hours (Dec). Sun Hours should reflect the average value of total solar energy received in peak-sun-hours per day on an optimally-tilted surface during the month with the lowest solar radiation (not the yearly average). This is the best number to use in off-grid system design where the electrical demand is continuous or is not expected to vary seasonally and the system must be designed to operate year-round.
IMPORTANT: Amps AC Output & the difference between an inverter and inverter/charger. # 1; Define Your Load Amp Requirements. Make sure the optional inverter you choose has sufficient AC output amps to handle the load you are requiring of your electrical demand. The concern here is that the combination of your normal loads (Not Surge Loads) might exceed the inverters output current rating (Amps Out). It is critical in the design selection that you make sure the continuous AC load combination of your power requirements at the site is at or below the rating of the optional 120 VAC inverter you choose. #2; Not all inverters can be used as chargers which suppliment your battery bank recharge in conjunction with a locally supplied generator. Make sure you consider that when you select an inverter VS an inverter/charger. (IE: Samlex AC inverters (Option Below) are not inverter/chargers and will not work with a generator or a main panel. The Samlex AC inverters come with 120 VAC outlets on the inverter.)
Blue Pacific Solar® MidNite Micro Kit is an ideal solutions for some small cabins. You supply a few simple tools, localy sourced wire and conduit as well as the brow sweat to assemble and install and we will supply the instructions with all necessary solar components integrated into a compact NEC code compliant system with a minimal footprint.
The MidNite MNDC15 is a general use indoor rated enclosure / load center that will hold up to 15 MNEDC type panel mount breakers, and one larger 175 amp battery on the end. The MidNite MNDC15 load center comes disassembled and pre-engineered with one goal in mind, making these smaller cabin or tiny house systems less expensive, NEC code compliant for a fast and easy off-grid application. Choose either optional roof, ground or pole mount rack which will save you both time and money. As with all Blue Pacific Solar® kits, we provide a custom line drawing showing you the wire size you will need and how to connect all the parts. Additionally our Technical Sales staff is standing by to provide competent support that is as close as your telephone.
The Midnite Solar Classic 150 MPPT battery charge controller substantially increases the flexibility, features and range currently found on all other MPPT controllers. The Team Members at Blue Pacific Solar® love specifying Midnite solar products in many of the systems we design. Why? Well frankly because they are American made and MidNite products are designed for the most durable off-grid conditions by engineers that are not afraid to get their hands dirty... plus they just plain work well.
Line drawing questions or just stuck? No worries we have your back and will be here to help whenever you have questions about your purchased Kit. For orders larger than $2,000.00 a Technical Sales Team Group Captain will be assigned your account. Your Technical Advisors job is to coordinate all parts and pieces of your order and to work with you throughout the process. This support helps because we will be providing you with a single contact point to call with your questions. Your technical support contact does not replace the maufactures warranty technical support. DIY means you accept the responsiblity of reading and following the line diagram and other installation documents prior to tackling the installation.
