    RV solar panel kits are growing in popularity among American and Canadian RV enthusiasts who are looking to get further away from the crowds and dry camp. Small RV solar battery chargers are prefect for families who don't want the noise of a generator disturbing their zen. Because RV's use DC power the installation is much simpler and easy to install.

    When sizing your RV solar panel kit you are likely to be first limited by the available roof area. The second thing to consider, after budget, is how may days of autonomy or off-grid power you are looking for. This is also often limited by the size of available space for an additional battery bank and how much your RV or camper is able to safely carry.

    RV solar kits are most often matched with AGM batteries because they are spill proof and deep cycle. It is always best to match the energy consumed by your RV while off-grid with your battery bank and solar charging capabilities. A good example is a TV, laptop and 4 LED lights are going to consume about 600 watts per normal day of use. A 12V 100 aH batter will store about 1,200 wH of energy. Two 100 aH batteries connected in parallel will give you about 3 days of RV dry camping if you watch your power consumption. With an RV solar kit, you can now increase that to 5 - 6 days depending on the number of RV solar panels you choose.
